BJI Orthopaedics Introduces NEW MRI Unit
BJI Orthopaedics now has an MRI unit available in our office. MRI is used to look for injuries to ligaments and muscles. For example, in our practice, we use MRI routinely to diagnosis injuries to the ligaments and cartilage of the knee, and muscle and ligament tears in the shoulder. MRI can also be used to diagnose injuries in the ankle, elbow, wrist and hip.
Having an MRI unit available in our office will allow our physicians the opportunity to offer more timely orthopaedic care. Currently, it can take several days or weeks to get an MRI of your injury. With proper insurance approval, MRI’s can now be done the same day as your visit or often within 24-48 hours. As you can see, the new MRI unit can help us make a diagnosis, begin treatment earlier and return you to work or play quicker.
